Keidanren's charter of corporate ethics on recruitment and employment of new college graduates
Through reviews of our charter of corporate ethics on recruiting and employing new college graduates, we have decided to delay the start of college student recruitment activities. This is our answer to the government's request and our determination is in line with the "Japan Revitalization Strategy". "Guidelines for Recruiting and Employing New Graduates" is the new name of our determination. It is different from the current charter of corporate ethics, a sort of gentlemen's agreement on a voluntary basis. All of our members are anticipated to become the guideline followers.
The revision will be applied to future activities for recruiting the current sophomores who are expected to join companies in April 2016. The current junior recruitment, which is beginning pretty soon, should comply with the present charter rules.
Keidanren is going to unveil its new guidelines this autumn as soon as the detailed rules such as handling of internship programs are fixed.
New nuclear safety standards
The new safety standards for nuclear power stations are at the world’s top level. They will contribute to enhancing the safety of nuclear power plants without doubt. It should be noted that concrete measures against severe accidents are written and expansion of the research into active faults are included in the new standards. The Nuclear Regulation Authority needs to carry out its safety confirmation work at nuclear power plants without delay.
