Recovery and Restoration from the Great East Japan Earthquake

The partnership between the public and private sectors free from the shackles of convention is indispensable for the recovery and restoration of the affected region. In this regard, the Japanese government needs to build a special zone for post-quake rehabilitation. It will work to attract domestic and foreign investment. Keidanren intends to contribute to the restoration and reconstruction of devastated areas through advanced technologies and services shown in our "Future City Model Projects". It is crucially important not only to restore and revitalise the industries but also to enhance the attractiveness of the Tohoku region and its competitiveness in the global market, since the region has played an important part in the agriculture and fisheries sector in Japan.
