At this critical time, I look forward to the United States' continued partnership with Japan to lead and uphold a free and open international order rooted in the rule of law. Together, we can address today's challenges and build a brighter, more prosperous future for both nations and the world.

The United States remains Japan's only ally and closest partner, bound by a relationship that has stood the test of time. Our nations have built a robust economic partnership, with Japan's direct investment in the United States consistently ranking first in the world for five consecutive years and amounting to approximately $800 billion. Japanese companies have also created nearly one million jobs across the United States, underscoring our significant contributions and commitment to the U.S. economy and society. I am confident that this strong economic foundation will continue to grow, driven by our shared commitment to trade and investment, and I hope the U.S. government will adopt policies that foster predictability and encourage businesses to invest with confidence.
