I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to former President Donald Trump on his reelection and to Vice President-elect JD Vance.

I recognize that this presidential election was among the closest in U.S. history, and I believe the results reflect the voices of Americans who valued President Trump's past achievements and look forward to the continuation of his economic policies.

President Trump enjoyed a close relationship with the late former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and I am confident that he will develop an equally strong relationship with our current Prime Minister, Shigeru Ishiba, to further enhance the U.S.-Japan alliance and strengthen our bilateral relations.

It is my hope that the Trump-Vance administration will view Japan as a vital partner in the international community, allowing our countries to collaborate with others to rebuild an open international order based on the rule of law.

I wish the new administration every success and look forward to the positive impact of their leadership.
