STRENGTHENING BUSINESS COOPERATION WITHIN THE APEC REGION

1. As international business expands in the Asia-Pacific region, there will be a growing range of common interests and concerns.

2. The need for promoting communication among business communities in the region is greater than ever, especially in connection with voicing the views of the private sector in such inter-governmental forums as APEC.

3. To promote such communication, the Japanese business community will host the second meeting of the APB-Net (Asia Pacific Business Network) in the latter half of next year in Osaka.

4. With an eye to the upcoming 1995 APEC gathering in Osaka, Keidanren is conveying the views of the private sector to the participants in government discussions. And it will be working hard to get those views reflected in government policies.
